Clinical Pilates - Beachside Physiotherapy and Psychology

Clinical Pilates

Our Clinical Pilates program is a major part of our injury rehabilitation at Beachside. It consists of an individualised program that is clinically proven & specifically tailored to each client’s needs. We use a combination of specialised Pilates equipment including the reformer, Wunda chair & springboard in addition to floor & resistance band exercises to target problem areas.

Many gyms & studios offer Pilates exercise classes – the difference here is the individual tailoring of your program. We offer semi-private classes with a ratio of 3 participants to 1 Physiotherapist so we can ensure you’re receiving individualised attention. Each person in the group does their own personal program under the close supervision of a Physiotherapist. This delivers the ideal balance of personalised attention and feedback while still building a fun, social and supportive feel within the group.

We initially have a one on one initial pilates assessment. In the assessment we establish how well you move, ask questions about current and previous injuries, establish your goals and find out where you’re weak and then tailor a program for you.

Clinical Pilates is perfect for managing injuries, enhancing postural control and core strength, improving body awareness & increasing flexibility.

It is ideal for you if you have:

  1. Low back pain
  2. Neck or upper back pain
  3. Sacroiliac joint (pelvis) pain or dysfunction
  4. Poor core stability
  5. Pre- or post-natal needs
  6. Pelvic floor dysfunction
  7. Knee, hip or ankle injuries, especially recurrent problems
